Mankinds thought of flawlessness is related with the sentiments of jealousy for what is impeccable. To Gene, Phineas was flawlessness all that Gene needed to be yet proved unable, which further filled his desire. His dread of conceding his jealousy of Finny cause his sentiments to putrefy until his automatic response on the lethal tree limb adds blame to envy, making harshness.
